First in a BRAND NEW SERIES from USA Today bestselling author Terry Spear, queen of shapeshifter romance.

Real estate mogul werewolf Rafe Denali didn’t get where he is in life by being a pushover. When sexy she-wolf Jade Ashton nearly drowns in the surf outside his beach house, he knows better than to bring her into his home and his heart. But there’s something about her that brings out his strongest instincts…

Rafe has good reason to be suspicious. Jade Ashton and her baby son are pawns in an evil wolf’s fatal plan. How can Jade betray the gorgeous man who rescued her? But if she doesn’t, her baby will die, and her own life hangs in the balance…

To get to the truth, Rafe is going to have to gain Jade’s trust. If he can do that, he just might be her last—and best—hope…

My Review:

This has got to be one of the most emotional, heartfelt werewolf novels I’ve ever read. The intense plot combined suspense, danger, and a whole lot of good old romance in a manner that was exquisitely real. Spear has created a wonderfully magical world for her characters to life in and presents it in such a manner that it’s easy to picture it happening right next door to you. The beautiful and at times awe inspiring descriptions brought everything to life in a big way for me.

I loved the characters in this novel and how tight a group they all were. Rafe and Jade were a fantastic couple. The way that they work together, and respect each other’s decisions was great. At the same time, the chemistry between them sizzled and the real romance was so heartfelt that I melted. Toby’s prominent role in the story really enriched the entire tale for me. He not only threw some kinks into everyone’s plans but gave an entirely new perspective on things. And the supporting cast? Those guys were fantastic as well. They’re the type of characters that you truly hope to see get their own stories in the future.

I absolutely loved this first instalment in Spear’s new werewolf series (along with the loose ties to her other stories as well). It is a must read for anyone who enjoys a good romance, alpha males, and a whole lot of fun.
