Coming home doesn’t always solve things … but it does pave the way for second chances.

Take one deadly bite and, bam, a man’s life is changed forever, or so Caleb discovers when a loss of control leads to him joining the military and leaving everything behind.

Time goes by … years spent silent and alone, cut off from those he loves. Until it’s time to come back, a scarred veteran, in many ways broken and looking for a meaning to his life. Perhaps it's not too late to right some wrongs. Make amends. Kiss a certain pair of sweet lips one more time.

If only Renny would damned well let him.

It doesn’t take Caleb long to realize Renny’s just the thing this croc needs to bring him back to life. Yet, what if he loses control again? He doesn’t want to take nibbling on her thighs to a whole new level.

Too bad, he can’t stay away, especially not when he discovers her secret. Add in a strange creature stalking the townsfolk and there is no way he’s leaving her alone.

Years ago it just about killed him to leave, but Caleb’s a changed man now. A darker kind of animal, and this retired soldier is ready to kill so he can stay.

Welcome to Bitten Point, where the swamp doesn't just keep its secrets, it sometimes eats them.

My Review:

What a story! Langlais has me gasping in shock, laughing at her characters` antics, and falling in love right alongside them. The story is vividly written, combining suspense with real life relationships. I enjoyed how Langlais wraps up this tale while still drawing you forwards into the next. I definitely can`t wait for more! I also appreciated the clarification on inter-caste mating and breedings. The dynamic manner in which Langlais develops her shifter culture and history gives a strong basis upon which this story (and the ensuing series) can build.

Not only was the plot of this novel intriguing, but the characters were riveting. The complex differences and difficulties that Caleb has with his animal half really set him apart from the rest of the shifters that we meet. Renny`s need to be there for her son yet her desire for more really shines through as she gets embroiled in the affairs of her hometown. The chemistry and hurt between these two created a dynamic that I thoroughly enjoyed. The pages sizzled as they healed from their pasts. I also thoroughly enjoyed their son. His insights and helpful thoughts put new meaning to the phrase `from the mouths of babes.`

The plot of this novel was fantastic, but the overarching plot of the series has me mesmerized. This is a must read for all lovers of paranormal romance.

Cynthia: So I met a man.
Mom: Is he single?

Hitting on the wrong woman finds Daryl regaining consciousness in a motel taped to a chair. Things were looking up--and not just below the belt.

A sexy, cocoa-complexioned veterinarian--with killer curves--wants answers, and he's only too happy to give them to her, for a price, say a kiss, or something more, from those luscious lips. The problem is Cynthia isn't the type to fall for flirty words and panty-dropping smiles. She tempts Daryl into helping her. Teases him into acting. Claims his heart without even trying.

But that was okay because...She's mine...and someone was trying to hurt her.

Hell no.

This kitty isn't afraid to unleash his claws and rescue the woman he wants. An intriguing, hot woman, a mystery, and danger? Sounds like fun, and Daryl is ready to play. He'll do anything to claim Cynthia as his mate.

My Review:

This novel was pricelessly outrageous from the get go. It was fun & funny yet also suspenseful with a hint of danger. I loved the texts between Cyn & her mom as well as the quotes and tidbits at the beginning of each chapter. They set the tone for the story in a very unusual way. The intrigue that is developed had me plotting and guessing throughout. I found myself perpetually trying to unravel it all to no avail.

I love the mishmash of castes in this story & how Langlais shows that this isn’t the norm. This anomaly is interesting in and of itself, highlighting the strata in the world today, while also promoting a feeling of belonging in this novel. The characters themselves really highlight this through their banter and interactions with one another. I don’t think that there was a single one that I didn’t enjoy getting to know. I won’t say too much about them as that will ruin part of the plot for you. Just know that they were a blast to journey with for this short while.

The intensely captivating intrigue and subterfuge had me hooked. The intense relationship between the main characters made it even better. It is the type of tale that you simply can’t stop reading.

He loves to HUG and SQUEEZE.

Welcome to Bitten Point, where a big bad snake dotes on his itty-bitty dog. Got a problem with it? Then speak to his fist.

Don’t mock Constantine’s dog. Princess might weigh only six and a half pounds, but she’s tough—so watch your ankles. Be warned, if she doesn’t like you then neither will Constantine.

Except he kinds of likes Aria, even though Princess would prefer to bury her in a hole.

Could it be because Aria has secrets? Lots of them, and they all have to do with the danger stalking Bitten Point. People are missing, and some have turned up dead. Monsters are roaming and not just the swamp at night but the streets too. At the heart of the mystery is a bite-sized woman, a woman Constantine wants to hug tightly in his coils and…keep forever?

A cold-blooded snake, Constantine can’t help but crave the warmth that is Aria, but can he keep her out of mortal danger long enough to make her his mate?

My Review:

What a story! This one has it all: suspense, danger, romance, heat, and above all, fun. Langlais returns to Bitten Point with her trademark snarky yet loveable characters and a story that caught my attention on multiple levels. Not only is the story itself fast paced and captivating, but she continues to develop the world surrounding her characters, making me feel as if I were part of it. Langlais has created some frightening beasts that gave me chills. They all seemed so real. There is danger and suspense on every page, but it doesn’t overshadow the romance building between the main characters. Instead, it adds to it.

I loved the dynamic between Aria and Conn. It was real and natural but not always easy. I loved getting to know Conn better. He’s such a complex individual. Seeing where he came from and what his reactions stem from made him more approachable, yet through it all he remains the uber-alpha male who draws you to him. Princess was priceless. She was a completely unlikely character but one that dramatically changes your outlook on the relationship.

I devoured this fantastically written novel in a single sitting. It was the perfect balance of fun & hot, suspenseful and creative. I will warn you, however, that the ending will leave you dying for the next novel in the series.
