My Review:

You know that novel that you’re expecting to love, to be blown off the wall by, that you’ve been waiting for since you read previous novel in the series? For me, that was this novel. I was ready to be completely drawn into the world that Cole had begun to create in the 1st novel of the series, and to get lost for a couple of hundred pages. Unfortunately, that wasn’t quite the case.

Don’t get me wrong. The plot was captivating and solid. Cole develops her world and the action of the story in ways that make it easy for readers to picture. I really found myself feeling as if I were part of the story. I enjoyed where the story was going and getting back into this world.

Enter the main characters and that’s where I had difficulties fully immersing myself in the story. Cujo’s angst mixed with Drea’s drama queen antics made it hard for me to connect with either of them. I wanted to like them, but simply couldn’t get into them.

As a whole, this was an interesting addition to Cole’s series. Although not my favourite of her novels, I did enjoy it and am very excited to see what comes next in this series that has definitely sparked my interest.
