This is one of those novels that wouldn’t have been nearly as enjoyable if the cast weren’t quite so perfect for their roles. Gretchen’s bombshell definitely threw me for a loop, yet I love how she stayed true to herself. Julian’s mix of caring and protective with Hollywood hero was a blast. I appreciated the way that Laurence brought out both of the main characters’ insecurities as well. Neither was perfect, but they were both perfect for each other.
Laurence set this novel forward with the seamless writing and enticingly captivating plot that I’ve come to expect from her. It was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.
