My Review:

Salonen creates a unique backdrop for her latest Big Sky Mavericks novel. She sets the scene well, allowing me to picture all of the elements. Each aspect is laid out in a manner that I felt as if I were there. The story that Salonen creates is both emotional and entertaining. I appreciated seeing the different lives intertwine and the various different familial units.

I loved the way that the different parts of Tucker’s life came together. It made for a very intriguing hero to this story. It took me quite a while to connect with Amanda. She was just so uppity. That said, the peek into her past, family situation, and how she got where she is now was an eye opener for me. I found that Amanda’s parents were key players in the novel, yet from a distance. Her father’s wished ruled the day all too often as Amanda tried to make amends for something that should never have been an issue.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Salonen’s writing and this novel was enjoyable, but it just didn’t quite do it for me. Although I had fun reading the novel I couldn’t fully get into it.
