Addie can't remember her birth father, but she'll never forget the lover who took her to bed -- and then disappeared. Now she has to trust Wes with her life. And the life of their unborn baby. As desire reignites, Addie quickly discovers that with this lawman by her side, she just might escape the target on her back.

My Review:

This novel was intense from the first paragraph to the last. A chilling vibe runs as an undercurrent throughout. Fossen had me jumping at shadows. The story is eloquently and enticingly written, making me want to come back for more. The action sequences were so real. They were vivid and pulse pumping without being over the top. At the same time, the relationships between the characters were also prevalent throughout, making the story about so much more than just a mystery.

The characters that Fossen introduces readers to in this first novel of her new series really gives us a feel as to what will come. At the same time, we meet some fantastic individuals that I enjoyed getting to know. I felt an immediate connection with the main characters and found myself wanting them to succeed and wanting to help them do so.

Fossen is the master of romantic suspense, taking readers deep into her story and keeping them hooked from cover to cover.
