My Review:

I enjoyed the realism of the story. Plank creates a well-placed world gives readers a real sense of what is happening around them. At times I really felt immersed in the world of dance. The difference between the different styles of dance was paramount to the tale. At the same time, its sensuality is apparent throughout. Her smooth narrative makes for an enjoyable read as her descriptions heighten the tale, taking it from real to vivid.

Although I enjoyed getting to know the characters, deeper development would have taken the story to another level. I didn’t feel as if I could connect with them enough to fully immerse myself in the story. The variety of personality types did give a sense of community throughout, and made for some interesting interpersonal relationships.

This was a fun and intriguing start to Plank’s Ballroom Romance series. I appreciated the way in which she developed the world in which her characters live. I’m quite intrigued to see what happens next.
