Back Cover Blurb:

Abducted by a space pirate, she fights the temptation to let him plunder her goods.

A boyfriend's attempted murder leaves Megan floundering in the ocean. Sinking without hope, the bright light she sees in the night sky isn't her doorway to heaven, but rather the beginning of her accidental abduction by a space pirate. While thankful of his rescue, Megan stays true to form and just can't keep her mouth shut, even when he keeps threatening to kill her--or auction her off to the highest bidder. Even odder, despite her decision to not get involved with her wickedly hot captor, she can't help craving his touch.

Tren retired from his job as a mercenary so he could enjoy life, but he never counted on the boredom of normalcy. The acquisition of rare items has somewhat filled the void, but his accidental abduction of an outspoken earthling, who doesn't know when to shut up, turns his life upside. Her fiery spirit draws him while at the same time drives him insane. Struggling with his urges, he must decide-- throttle her barbarian neck or ravish her delectably lush body?

Despite what his heart tries to tell him, he's determined to sell her to the highest bidder even as he seduces her body. However, despite his best intentions, he discovers he can't let her go. And when a foe from his past thinks to steal her, he'll do anything to get her back.

My Review:

If I were to sum this up in 2 words it would be: hot & sassy. I love Langlais’ writing style. The touch of snark with an inviting atmosphere sets the tone for the novel perfectly. Vivid descriptions bring the setting to life, be it on earth or in space. The plot itself was well thought out and definitely held my attention. It was fast paced and hot as all frux .

The charged chemistry and heated banter between the main characters was fantastic, really adding to my understanding of their personalities. The fact that they refused to openly admit their feelings gave me a moment or two of giggling while at the same time, I enjoyed how they got to know each other through their arguing. I loved how Langlais used sex not as simply an interlude, but as a way to give readers even further insight into who the characters were. Yes, it was a key component to the story and extremely vivid, but there was also a point to it, rather than simply an interlude.

This was a gripping novella that not only has me hooked on the series, but on Langlais’ writing as a whole.

My Review:

Once again Langlais takes us out of this world with snark, sass, and a healthy dose of unmistakable chemistry. Wound throughout her suspenseful plot was the type of relationship that many of us wish for, even if it does start out on rocky shores. I loved watching the plot unfold, seeing the characters come together and realise what was right in front of them. Throughout, Langlais also continues to develop the galaxy in a manner that is easy for readers to picture, without ever hampering your imagination.

I’m thoroughly enjoying the multiplicity of races and species that Langlais introduces us to. They’re all unique and well developed. The development spans morphology, general characteristics, personalities, and at times cultural histories. I can really picture them and am having a blast with the species names.

The way in which Langlais develops her characters’ emotions is subtle yet poignant. I felt as if I were experiencing it alongside them. Anger and lust, fear and betrayal all shine through. Aylia’s quest was fantastic. Seeing her come into her own while chasing her mate revealed a great deal about her character. The vulnerability underlying Jaro’s personality is intriguing and makes him approachable. At the same time, he’s all alpha male and I couldn’t help falling for him. The cousins were a fantastic bit of comic relief. I loved getting to know them as individuals and the way in which they added to the story, giving us further insights into who Jaro really is. I can’t wait to see these two in their own story.

This novel was definitely a welcome addition to Langlais’ Alien Abduction series. I devoured it in a single sitting and found myself immediately reaching for the next novel in the series.

Not interested in a winner, she clobbers them, but when they regain consciousness, they’re even more determined to claim her.

Best friends, Brax and Xarn, share everything; loot, jobs, trouble, until they come across a luscious human that stirs their possessive side. Their battle over who gets to keep her ends in a tie due to matching concussions, but what’s a bruise or two when it comes to winning her as a mate. When she keeps denying them both, they put aside their rivalry to team up and claim the one they want.

Watch out universe, because if you thought purple warriors Brax and Xarn were a menace to the galaxy before, then hang on tight, because hopelessly in love, they’re more deadly—and hilarious--than ever.

My Review:

This story was abso-positive-lutely frukxing fantastic! Langlais’ vivid, larger than life descriptions made it easy for me to travel the galaxy on this suspenseful, hotter than Hades journey with her loveable characters. The fast paced, action intensive plot held my attention, keeping me on the edge of my seat. Langlais also continues to develop her alien culture, highlighting family ties and interactions that were so very real. Everything combined for a phenomenal whole that I didn’t dare put down.

Our introduction to Louisa is absolutely priceless. I mean, I can’t deny that I wouldn’t do the same thing in her situation, but I couldn’t stifle my giggles. I also felt as if I had a good sense of who she was after her opening ordeal. Her indecision and confusion throughout, especially with respect to her men, made her easy to identify with, while also highlighting the interpersonal relationships in the tale. Langlais also develops Brax and Xarn in such a manner that I really got to know the inseparable duo, while also getting a peak at who they are as individuals. This complexity of characters really took the tale to an entirely new level for me.

Hot sex & a suspenseful plot: What more can a gal ask for? Except maybe this double dose of purple leading men.

Warning: This story contains a hot purple alien. Probing is to be expected

My Review:

Langlais yet again puts pen to paper to create a story that I won’t soon forget. She took me out of this world with her vividly visual descriptions and endlessly entertaining plot. This novel is fast paced and action packed. I love Langlais’ character names. They’re definitely unique but still easy to remember and say. The alien names definitely stand out from the much more standard human names that she uses.

The banter and squabbling between Makl and Olivia was the focal point of their relationship and lots of fun to watch. Not only did it add to the story, but the characters revealed a lot about themselves and each other through it. I loved Makl and how he lived by the mercenary rules, even stating them to himself when they were relevant. It not only gave a peek into his overly rigid personality, bent on being the best, but also what it means to be a mercenary universe-wide. Rule #5 was expecially comical. I enjoyed finding out what it means to be successful in Makl’s mercenary family and the fact that even above that, family means everything.

The way that she develops Murphy is priceless. He adds to much to the story and definitely some comical moments too. The mysteriousness of who and what he is, combined with the real repercussions of getting on his wrong side was fantastic. The implications of Murphy’s Law are endless. Ifruum was also a peach. His knowledge and know it all personality really endeared me to him.

This novel was definitely a welcome addition to Langlais’ Alien Abduction series. She continues to develop the world and culture of her chosen aliens while also entertaining readers with an adventurous, fast paced, spicy story.

He’ll do anything to be her knight in purple armor.

Bucking family tradition, Dyre is determined to become his planet’s first hero, even if it breaks his mother’s heart. He sets out on numerous quests to save the universe, however his altruism never seems to turn out quite as expected. Who knew doing the right thing was so hard?

In between saving those who don’t want his help—and the chaos that follows—he rescues a damsel in distress. She doesn’t appreciate his heroic abduction, and even worse, once Dyre gets to know the outspoken human, he entertains less than noble thoughts about ravishing her.

It takes only a couple of comical mishaps, some hot kisses and danger for Dyre and Betty to discover their happily ever after—and thank the stars for a heroine who ends up saving this hero, and the galaxy, from his chivalrous side.

He’s big, he’s purple and he wants to be a hero, not a mercenary. Too bad he’s got bad genes working against him.

My Review:

What does it take to become a hero in a family of mercs? Some comedy, a little heat, & a lot of action. Langlais serves this all up with a side of out of this world adventure. This novel has a well written flow that enhances the feel of the story. The unofficial guide to heroism was… well… Oh you’ll just have to read the story. I can’t put its pricelessness into words, especially not against the mercenary’s guide.

I swear, every time Dyre opens his mouth he made me laugh. I love how he strives to be himself, even if it rarely turns out as expected. Betty’s unique mix of human and Zonian beliefs made her into quite the feisty damsel, even if she was always in distress.

This novel is a fairy tale fantasy meets ignoble space alien in a comical and at times heated adventure through the galaxy. It was a blast to read.

It seems Vhyl isn’t the only one interested in Jilly’s treasure—and Jilly herself. On the run not only from Earth forces but his enemies too, they must fight to survive and evade capture.

However, he can’t escape the effect the human has on him.

In the end, Vhyl has to make a choice—Jilly or the priceless treasure he came for?

My Review:

This novel was wonderfully exciting and fast paced. Langlais’ tale is vibrant and larger than life. The ‘Fine Art of Acquisition’ is even better than the ‘Mercenary’s Guide’ from earlier in the series. It gave me a deeper sense of the alien culture while also making me giggle. I also appreciated how Langlais tied the entire series more closely together via shared celebrations between all of the major characters.

The sassy, snarky writing really let me get inside the heroine’s head. Jilly was probably my favourite heroine in the series. Her sense of self-worth and desire for a certain life was enchanting. Her grandma’s advice was preciously priceless. It had me laughing every time. I enjoyed Vhyl. His actions and reactions were all so genuine. Topped off with his internal conflicts – what he should want as opposed to what he does want – made him a lot of fun to get to know.

Langlais has once again created a fun, fast paced story that took me right out of this world. It was a fantastic read that I was sorry to see end.
