Amanda has a problem. A priceless artifact was stolen from her archives, and her colleagues at the Anagogic Research Council believe she simply misplaced it. Although she has a supernatural talent for languages, Amanda’s klutzy ways have made her the butt of office jokes.

Gio is everything Amanda isn’t—suave, charming and sophisticated. He’s also the thief who stole her artifact. But stealing the antique decoder isn’t enough. He also has to learn its secrets and no one knows those secrets better than the beautiful archivist. He wants her from the moment he insinuates himself into her life. But someone else is after Amanda, and he’s far more dangerous than the sexy thief.

It’s said that opposites attract, but is the heat between these two enough to overcome their differences? A killer lurks and they must learn to trust each other if they have any chance of survival.

A Romantica® paranormal erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

My Review:

I fully enjoyed Conrad’s approach to this story. The fast paced, light-hearted writing really highlighted the suspense and heat of the story. Conrad develops her world in vivid clarity, bringing each aspect to life for the reader. The archives and artefacts aspect was great. It quite enjoyed it as it broadened the horizons of the story for me.

I loved Amanda’s haphazard clumsiness. It was great to see a heroine who wasn’t perfect but who stood on her own all the same. The direct counterpoint between this and Gio’s suave, debonair stance made it all the more noteworthy. I enjoyed the characters in this novella. They were unique individuals from such different worlds. Having them come to understand one another was quite intriguing. They are the kind of characters that I would have enjoyed getting to know in a full length novel.

This was a fun foray into the supernatural. It was a quick, light, hot read that will definitely have me returning to this series in the future.
