Back Cover Blurb:

As a bear-shifter in a pack roaming the Scottish countryside, Bryce Matheson embodies brute force and untamed abandon. As a widower, he's running scared. When Bryce attempted to open his scarred heart to another, she grew tired of waiting for him to state his intentions, and the unearthly beauty spurned him for someone who wasn't worthy. But now that fate has conspired to set Kenzie Denune free once again, Bryce vows to finally win her love.

Kenzie is a witch who summons her powers to protect those too weak to care for themselves. After surviving an abusive husband, she swears off men—even men like Bryce, whose iron muscles make her knees weak, and whose piercing eyes fill her with longing. Her life's purpose is to help others. However, dark forces have different plans for her gifts. To save herself, Kenzie must team up with the shifter who has always stirred her soul—and trust in a passion powerful enough to set her blood aflame.

My Review:

What a unique novel. The plot is well crafted & one of a kind. Davis brings this world to a vivid reality through her interesting narrative and picturesque descriptions. Not only is this novel inductive to a few laughs, it’s also quite emotionally infused. This novel runs the emotional gamut, giving readers quite the ride. She also brings her shifters to life in a big way. I enjoyed the multifaceted development that really allows readers to understand them.

Davis brings her characters to live in a brilliantly larger than life manner. The fact that the main characters are both having a second chance at love makes the story even more poignant. I love the fact that the dialogue matches the characters and time period they live in. The thick brogue in the dialogue is enough to make a girl drool. It adds extra authenticity to the tale.

As a whole this was a great story. I thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in this world I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.
