Welcome to The Chatsfield, New York!
I found the characters in this novel next to impossible to connect with. The main characters were very well developed. Yates allows you to get to know them on many different fronts. However, they are so far removed from my reality that they almost seemed ridiculous at times. Yates doesn’t provide that bridge to allow us ‘normals’ to connect with them and to really care about their stories.
Overall, this was a well written, enjoyable read. It wasn’t my favourite of Yates’ work but I’m glad to have read it.
