My Review:

My first thoughts on this one? The premise is very unique & I was quite intrigued by it. I felt that Conrad only scratched the surface of her story. Had she turned this novella into a full length novel this would have been a very memorable work. As it was, it was an enjoyable, quick, original read. Conrad writes it with a very inviting and fun loving writing style that highlights the intensity of the characters’ plights. The author does develop her supernatural worked in a gradual yet very revealing manner that drew me in. it is also developed in a vivid, larger than life manner. The supernaturals really jump out at you.

The characters in this one, although quite approachable could have used more development. Conrad ensures that we know how her characters became who they were today. The development of their pasts was quite well done. However, she does skim over who they are today. I would have found them easier to connect with on a deeper level with more development. As it was, the main characters were approachable and definitely suited their roles in the story. They are likeable, one of a kind characters.

This was a rather interesting and intriguing look at weres and shamanism. Conrad has definitely laid the groundwork for her new series & I’m intrigued to see if she goes more in-depth with future stories.
