Synopsis from Goodreads:

A.J. Owens is a woman on a mission. Convinced that her sister’s abusive marriage to Mike Towers drove her to kill herself, A.J. travels to his Texas ranch and concocts a daring plan to get closer to her brother-in-law. She’s also determined to rescue the champion racehorse he stole, Rebel Dorado, even if it means pretending to seduce the man.

Towers’s head of security, Chance Landin, knows there’s something fishy about this gorgeous blonde seductress. But when he discovers her real agenda, the former Marine is more than happy to help—he’s got his own plans for revenge against Towers. After the man framed his uncle for the cold-blooded murder of the thoroughbreds he cared for, Chance swore he’d bring him down.

They’re both determined to expose the madman’s deadly secrets, but when romance begins to spark between them, will love triumph over revenge?

My Review:

Garcia’s picturesque writing invites readers to join her characters in their plights. Her suspenseful and mysterious storyline captures your imagination while tugging at your heart. I found myself completely captivated. I couldn’t put the book down for a second, and when I had to (joys of puppies) it was all I could think about. The story is well written, the plot seamless, and the author’s creativity is boundless. Garcia has definitely written a romantic suspense that will stand out in the genre as well as a story that will stand the test of time.

Between hidden identities & real histories readers get a full glimpse at the lives of the two main characters in this novel. The complexity of characters combined with their unusual yet forceful plight really draws you to them. Watching them try to fight against the chemistry between them was electrifying. The rest of the cast was quite well developed as well. I thoroughly appreciated the mix of characters and how intimately involved they were with the plot.

Overall? This novel was absolutely, utterly, and breathtakingly fantastic. I’d highly recommend it to one and all. It will definitely have a permanent place on my re-read list. This is also an author I will be watching closely in the future.
