It is the third entry in the Sacrificed serial, chronicling Melanie Hall's efforts to fulfill her contract and conceive a dragon-shifter child. My Review:

By this point in the serial Donovan has set up the scenery in the dragon sanctuary perfectly. It’s very easy to picture. I loved the closer look at the inner workings of dragon-shifter society that we now get. It was enlightening and very entertaining. On top of that, the story remains as intriguingly insightful as the rest of the series, building on what came before it. Donovan’s emotional writing brings everything to a poignant head with the unmistakable, yet oh-so-tantalizing cliff-hanger that she leaves us with.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the main characters better in this instalment. They become even more real than they were in previous instalments. They’re also more rounded. Tristan’s newfound knowledge of himself and his true beliefs were quite enlightening.

This was a phenomenal addition to Donovan’s Sacrificed to the Dragon serial. I love the new outlook she takes on the genre without completely dismissing it. I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys the paranormal (but would suggest reading it in order).
