My Review:

What a bewitching novel! Court intrigue melds with romance in an unforgettable manner. Roberts’ descriptions make this story come to life in a vivid way. You can’t help but picture the amazing scenery surrounding the characters. She transports you back in time, where you fall in love with her story, her characters, and the land. The novel itself was well thought out & edited. The storyline was fascinating. Roberts had me on edge throughout.

I quite enjoyed the cast of characters in this novel. The preconceptions held by the main characters added to the drama of the tale, while also adding some comedy to their interactions. The intensely personal conversations between the main characters really allows you to get to know them. The supporting cast was just as approachable. I found myself quite enamoured with many of these individuals. The way that Roberts’ developed their backgrounds as well as their thoughts and feelings on certain events made them all the more real

This well written story full of court intrigue, adventure, and romance was next to impossible to put down. I would recommend it to those looking for a healthy dose of highland romance.
