My Review:
What a story. Fielding somehow mixes description with narrative with information and background to create a complete whole. The story is fully rounded and uniquely developed to provide all aspects to the reader. At the same time, your imagination runs wild while you read this. There is almost a mystical or ethereal quality to this story. The author enchants you with her storytelling. She also gives you chills with her storyline. This is a brilliant mix of many styles and genres, yet the author seamlessly brings it all together into an unforgettable whole.
I really enjoyed the main characters in this tale. I found myself both falling and rooting for them. Watching their relationship develop from a chance meeting to a relationship was heart-warming and thought provoking. The characters themselves are also quite genuine. They’re the type of people that you want to get to know. Also, the mix of English and Italian in their speech patterns makes them that much more enchanting.
As a whole, this was a very approachable love story that kept me on my toes. It’s also going to stay with me and haunt me for a while. Could you just imagine? I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance and foreign countries (unless you’re Italian, in which case ‘foreign countries’ doesn’t apply).
