Synopsis from Goodreads:

City girl Calista Coffman can’t believe her misfortune when she hits a deer in rural Maine on the way to a friend’s wedding. With her vehicle needing time-consuming repairs, she’s stuck in small town Maine for the week with nothing but the local hicks to keep her company. At least there’s the super sexy game warden that came to her aid on the side of the road to keep her entertained.

Will Holbrook’s given up on love after suffering a terrible loss in his past. But he can’t deny his attraction to the independent beauty that ends up stuck in his town, even if she's a ‘flatlander’.

It’s supposed to be just casual, no strings attached, but even the best laid plans can fail…

My Review:

Well, this story definitely has a unique and captivating beginning. I was caught right from the get-go. I really appreciate the whirlwind with a pause. It makes the relationship seem more realistic and plausible. Not only does Ryan have a very well developed storyline that will tug at your heart and make you giggle a time or two, but her phenomenal writing style will draw you in. Her descriptions are beyond compare. Everything is simultaneously down to earth and out of this world. Although natural and realistic she makes everything pop with vivid realism.

I love the main character. She’s such a city girl and so real. Her reactions are to the core. It’s priceless at times. The male lead is great too. You really get to know him as in individual and as a professional. The supporting cast lends a hometown feel to the story. Some are quite well developed, while others remain superficial. It really adds to the story itself. Their developmental status is directly related to their role in the story.

Overall this was a very unique yet utterly enjoyable story. I couldn’t put it down and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

  1. I am not sure exactly what i would do if i was stranded somewhere for an entire week - other than explore the area and chat to people wherever i was.

  2. Hopefully wherever I was stranded would have a bookstore available or at least wifi so I could read to my heart's content. If those options were not available, then I would probably go sightseeing and make some new friends.

  3. Unfortunately for some people, I'm nosey. So I would need to find out all I could about everyone! :) I'm also a good listener, so everyone would eventually be telling me their problems and asking for advice.

  4. If I had my Kindle I would be a happy lost person.. I love reading and hopefully it would be a peaceful and quiet place where nothing would interfere with my reading. Of course I would also hike around looking for someone else and FOOD!!! lol Good luck everyone. :)
