Synopsis from Goodreads:
I love the character names in this novel. Clifton walks the line between unique fantasy character names and easy to remember (and pronounce) names. It’s the perfect mix. His characters are also well-developed and approachable. Clifton turns a multicultural mix of characters into an interplanetary cast of characters. That said, the cast complements each other creating a well-rounded whole for the story. It is quite a large cast but each individual remains autonomous throughout. Also, the main character is thrust into situations that he could never have imagined and does a good job of growing into his role. Clifton also does an amazing job of portraying this growth in a natural light.
Overall, this is a well thought out and put together story that kept my attention and imagination peaked.
