Synopsis from Goodreads:
Harbaugh’s characters develop a will-they-won’t-they type of romance with a big twist. Not only does it draw many of these characters together as more than blood kin, but it also defines who some of these characters are. Since the characters are so firmly planted in their time period, the way that they approach marriage is key to their personalities and upbringing. Harbaugh doesn’t stop there with her character development, however. Each character is individually developed to suit their role in the story and to further the storyline. As a reader you won’t love everyone. Some you may well despise (I know I did). This all adds to the realism and romanticism of this phenomenal tale.
Overall, this was a brilliant escape from modern day reality and I couldn’t put it down. It was a heart-warming tale that left me smiling and wanting more. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
